Jean Beck, daughter of Marge and Russ Sharp, was born and raised in Bisbee and educated at the University of Arizona, earning degrees in Architecture and in Interiors/Home Economics. She loves starting her watercolor paintings on site so she can observe her subjects directly. Seeing interesting activities and wildlife is also part of the adventure for her while "out there" in all kinds of weather. Many hours of walking up and down Tombstone Canyon and up to the old high school influenced her Bisbee outlook and appear in her work. Diane Fairfield was born in New Jersey and raised in New England. She currently lives in the Southwest high desert of Cochise County. Diane is a painter of impressionistic/expressionistic landscapes, abstractionism and prophetic art, finding inspiration both from her environment and from God. She works primarily in pastels and oils, both of which lend themselves to a freedom of expression. Diane loves the immediacy of pastels, and experiences in them a natural expression and extension of the desert environment. The lushness and intensity of oils make them consistent with her bold, colorist style while creating the possibility for impasto work and carving back through the layers.
