Joanne Berry
My
Bio

Joanne BerryLife by its very nature is a roller coaster of change and transition, whether we want to be along for the ride or not. With the closure of my gallery in September, I am shifting from a store front venue to a virtual online and community presence. Here's a little history about myself.

I was born in Philadelphia in 1955 and raised in South Jersey until I moved to Tucson, Arizona, in 1978. I was known for artistic strength all through school, and my children's school years. I'm the mother of three: two sons and a daughter . I spend most of my free time with my daughter, Leah, youngest son, Sean, and granddaughter, Nevaeh. I'm also a wife, teacher, and lover of traveling, thanks to my son Nathan. A trip to Madrid, Spain brought a new direction and focus to my life. I've employed a variety of artistic techniques, but I'm partial to the vibrancy of the pigments of pastels and the subtleness I can achieve with them.

As an artist, I am always on assignment. I want to capture the moment and display it for all to see. I am compelled to share my passion and excitement of the beauty I see. I'm looking at shadows, contrasts and changes in light, form and color. So lately my quest is to paint as much as possible in the public, using technology to share where I am, who I'm with, and what I am creating. From landscapes to murals, musical events to fairs, I invite you to come along with me in my venture into the virtual world and enjoy the ride with me.
