 Featured Artist: Jean Beck Jean Beck, with degrees in Architecture and Interiors, approaches plein air painting with joy. She says, “I love the process of painting on-site, which shows me light and color effects or shadow details that disappear when using photographs. Plein air painting lets me be four years old again, on a picnic; and weather effects and the feel of a place seem better with watercolor.” As a fourth generation Arizona native, born and raised in Bisbee, Jean is a signature member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild and belongs to the Arizona Watercolor Association and the Tucson Branch of the National League of American Pen Women.
