David Altamirano

David Michael Altamirano has exhibited work in group shows in Douglas, Bisbee, and Tucson, Arizona. His work has been shown at the Cochise College Union gallery, the University of Arizona Union gallery, and the Fremont House gallery in Tucson, A.Z.

David was born and raised in the small border town of Douglas, Arizona. He was a very creative kid growing up and was exposed to art even before he could crawl. In fact, as a child, his mother would hold him in her arms while she painted desert wildlife images at their home. People who know him say, “David was born to paint!” In 1999 he graduated with honors from Douglas High School. In 2002 he went on to get his Associates degrees in Art, Communications, and General Education at Cochise College. He then earned his Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from the University of Arizona, and will soon have his work published in the International Book “2008 Art Buzz collection.”

In David’s current works, he invites the viewer to experience a journey through a living and breathing world of color. These desert landscapes are very much part of who David really is. His desire to create art and his connection with the land is something that he cherishes deeply. When engaged by his creations, you will find inspirations of nature, tranquility and spirituality.
